I made a cake yesterday and didn't lick the bowl once! I didn't snitch any cake nor frosting! I drank 20 oz of water during the process so I'd feel extra full and never once cheated!!!

goal #1 reached
I wanted to lose 30 pounds...and then get contacts! I haven't had them for years and I've wanted them so badly. Guess what??
I REACHED IT!
I've lost 24.6 pounds since 10/15/09, but I lost 6 pounds before that. (I joined Weight Watchers earlier this year) So I'm claiming it!
I've lost a total amount of 31.6 pounds...and I'm showing off my conacts!

one month update
This is ME! 21.2 POUNDS LIGHTER!!!
I lost 21.2 pounds in one month. I'm trying HARD not to smile in these pictures, so that's why the funny staring faces.
If you would like to rewind to see pictures of my first post and "before" pictures last month, click HERE.I'm going to try to wear the same outfit so it's easier to see my progress!
Bad Habits that I've broken:
-I don't "munch" on junk
-I don't eat candy or sugar; I don't crave it!
-I fill my time with other activities than with food
-I don't eat at night anymore
-I drink 64-80 oz of water and NOT pop
-I "reward" myself with a can of diet coke once in a while, but really don't crave it.
-I find myself much more happy.

a litlte tip for today
Cultivate Friendships
We love spending time with friends but sometimes are too busy to keep up relationships. Experts warn that this could be hazardous to your health since people with solid support networks tend to live longer. Nurture healthy friendships for fun and support. And get rid of unhealthy friendships that are emotionally draining.
From Take Shape For Life's Tip of the Day for November 13, 2009. I love it!

just an afterthought
Just wanted to share a HUGE accomplishment. We took the kidlets trick-or-treating on Halloween night last week and got about 8 lbs of candy. We only went to 2 trunk-or-treats and a couple neighborhoods, but often the kids were the first and only trick-or-treaters, so they were rewarded with GINORMOUS handfuls of candy.
I threw about a pound of it away after inspecting all the loot. I was impressed with myself because even after sorting and rooting around 500+ pieces of candy, I didn't have a single piece!
The candy is NOT hidden. The candy is very accessible and I could easily eat behind closed doors, but I don't. I don't think about what I'm missing out on. I'm not thinking about what it would taste like. I'm thinking that if I did have a piece, I don't know if I could stop at just ONE. As I chose not to have one, it's gotten a lot easier to look past the short-term satisfaction and looking forward to the long-term goal. I never thought that I'd be the one to say no to chocolate and be OKAY with it. I have given away some of it, thrown away some and the kids have some now and then. Now the candy and chocolate is an after-thought. If even that!
I'm getting used to politely telling my uber-sugar tooth, "No thank you." And I don't mourn it. I don't mind. I'm getting USED to it!
